ECU Student Village...Panorama of the best Court!

I took a panorama of the court in which I've stayed in Australia since February 2. It's a pretty awesome place..my room is on the right side in the far corner - Unit 12, Room 4. I reckon this is the best court ever...this is where most of the most memorable events of my stay happened! I'll miss you all...

More Spiders! and Perth!

Well I found another spider, and took a few shots of Perth at night and the awesome movie theaters they have here.

Spider #2..this one's name is Fred.

I found him in the sink in the morning, he was pretty scared and tried to hide. I caught him, took some pictures and set him free before the girls could vacuum him up.

Maybe I should mention school..I often forget my cover for being here. It's going very well.. got HD's (High-distinctions >= 80%) on 3 of my big final assignments. I'm done 3 final exams and only one left next week! Well that's boring..so I'm done.

I'm Torn

I would rather be on the beach. I have so much damned homework to do. 2 assignments and a statistics test due by Sunday at 11:59pm. It is 32 degrees out and I want to not do my homework and just go to the beach. Can I? no..I'm way too much of a geek to do something like that.

I will go to the beach on Monday, I don't care if it's only 25 degrees.

I miss you beach.

University of Western Australia

I went to UWA today to represent the University of Calgary at their exchange fair. The campus is AMAZING. U of C is just starting an exchange agreement with UWA so I could have went there next semester!! oh well, everything happens for a reason..the campus alone is incentive enough for me to want to do a Masters.

It's cooling down...

Today is only a high of 27 degrees...it's comfortable but by no means hot, I really hope it warms up a bit..I'm not ready for winter Perth style. Maybe I'll go to the beach today.

I found a job and school seems to be getting pretty full on now but I'm lovin' it. 23 days until Melbourne!

School's Started

School!

The torture has begun! I have to be honest, before I came to ECU I thought...4 classes = full load? this should be a breeze! Class only 3 days a week? Even better!

Well....I've gone to all my classes and there are definitly some drawbacks to 3 hour lectures as opposed to 50 minute ones. The main problem is (you probably guessed it) staying awake. Some of the lectures are pretty darn boring and 3 hours is a long time to attempt consciousness for. If you've been in any sort of school, you know what I mean.

The other drawback is that you have to work on your classes for the rest of the week, even though you only have class once a week. You have to finish all your stuff and not just forget about it; with 50 minute lectures 3 times a week, you can't forget about it.

The classes i'm taking are:

MAT1114: Introductory Statistics - stats is stats..I just hope i'm on the right side of the bell curve come the end of June ;)

CSG3204: Information Services Managment - Pretty cool, looks pretty challenging!

CSG3308: Wireless Security - I'm looking forward to this one! Watch what you say on your wireless internet ;)

CMM1108: Communication & Digital Technology (zzz...we get to make a blog for our final project..ummm...)

I know, it looks pretty nerdy..math and techy stuff; what did you expect?

Surfing

Going on a full day surfing trip on March 14th! I hope they can teach me how to cut up the waves good without getting beat up by them! I'll be sure to let you know any new bruises or sand burns I recieve from mother nature.
